This post is for Wordpress Mu users. :)

I have just found out that due to security reasons, Wordpress Mu does not allow <object> tag or <embed> tag, which is use to embed videos. As user can embed malicious codes and compromise the blog.

If you trust your users, you may download the following vimeo-quicktag version which has codes that allow video embed. This is done by adding object, embed, and param tag to the edit_allowedposttags filter. The original codes are from http://wpmudev.org/project/Allow-Embedded-Videos.

Please note that videos will not show if plugin is deactivated, this is due to the need for edit_allowedposttags filter in the plugin to enable Wordpress Mu to allow video embed tags.

Hi, great plugin, thank’s a lot for share it!

Unfortunately in firefox 3.0.6 (with flash player plugin 10,0,12,36 debug version) the video is not showed.

    Any clue?

      Hi, Javi

My localhost Wordpress Mu is version 2.7, i am using Firefox version 3.0.6 and I have visited the adobe flash player web site http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/about/ to check my version of flashplayer, which is 10,0,12,36. i am able to insert a vimeo video, publish and view it.

I have no idea why it does not work for you?

Can you please enlighten me on what is a debug version of flash player plugin 10,0,12,36? Probably, it is the difference in version.

Lastly, can you please try inserting other video? I had come across video not showing, completely blank page without vimeo loading graphic and there is no message from vimeo saying video not found. However, when i try inserting other video, it works.

Thank you very much for trying out my plugin!

      Regards,

      Denzel

Oh my, I am so sorry.

Managed to find out the problem after much trial and error. Internet explorer does not support or does not need object class…. Anyway, I have fixed it by changing some codes in vimeo.php and dialog.js

I have tested in firefox, internet explorer, opera and safari just to make sure. :)

I am so sorry you will have to download and reinstall again.

Please remember to deactivate plugin before reinstall. Activate and go to edit post. Refresh the browser to allow quicktag to appear. Delete the video and reinsert again and save.

Sorry for all the trouble and disappointment. Thank you for feedbacks!

      Regards,
      Denzel
